Parental talk to children about evens in child"s life. Elaborative parental talk: when talking to kids about events in childs life, what happened, where were you, who was there etc. Child says yes, and then mom says remember what daddy said we say, what did we do, what was there. Mother giving more and more clues to child. Pragmatic parent talk: more instructions and plans and questions. Ex: i think someone went with us, who went with us when we went to sesame street, you remember, who was it says same thing over and over again and not picking up on what child is saying. In talking about events with parent, the child (cid:862)relives(cid:863) the event. Most evident when talking to 2-3-year-old child contributes little to convo.
