Many people don"t identify as feminist stigma associated with it, (cid:498)anti-male(cid:499), aggressive, negative connotations as to what a feminist looks like and their belief system. First wave of feminism (can be tracked back to the 1800s) Similarities perspective: minimalist view or liberal feminism. If men and women are considered alike and equal in all important respects, then they ought to hold the same rights and privileges, opportunities, roles etc. Differences perspective: maximalist view or cultural feminism. Men and women are essentially different, if we differ in really important ways than we ought to uphold different rights, roles and opportunities. Both differences have to be valued; the differences of women are not valued as highly as those of men.
