Sexual harassment (apa, 1990): deliberate or repeated comments, gestures, or physical contacts of a sexual nature that are unwanted by the recipients. No mention of power in this definition, typically happens in relationships where there is inequality of power. Most research has been done on females being harassed by males. Power, young men might be less likely to report because they would be giving up power. Hard to evaluate, goes unreported a lot of the time. Sexual experiences questionnaire (fitzgerald et al, 1985; 1988; 1995) Gender harassment: any kind of behavior targeting a person because of their gender; ex sexist jokes. Unwanted sexual attention: touching, persistently asking for dates. Sexual coercion: sexual favors to avoid consequences. Mcdaniel & roosemalen (1992: female undergraduates, 74% of their female students had experienced gender insults, 29% had experienced sexual invitation, 7% had experienced sexual intimidation. People have different idea of sexual harassment. O"connel et al (2007) canadian sample harassment: around 10% of men.
