Document Summary

Eve, through her disobedience, brought sin into the world, while mary brought into the world its salvation: some say she was the mother of the human being, but she was also the mother of. She is the mother of jesus and the mother of god. These aspects of mary make her a sign of hope for the church. She is the church in its perfect form. The assumption of mary is the moment she ascends to heaven. Both her body and soul ascended to heaven because her body was pure. Already in the 5th century, some christians tried to call her the mother of the human. But at the council of ephesus in 431, she was declared the bearer of god. Mary serves as the human link, who, by reason, of her free choice, was the human agent through whom salvation came into the world. Paul calls this time a fullness of time.
