Peisistratids developed the first signs of standardized coinage. Fontainhouse peisistratids tyrant brought flowing water to athens through aqueducts, was also developing city and power. Ethne tribal group, a way to organize communities. Extent of the polis system in archaic greece: mainly in southern polis, attica, arcadia, etc, communities in these areas were organized as cities based on ethne. Thessaly: dependant on kings and rulers, people are recognized as belonging to the same decent, ethnes and city states develop parallel to each other. Boeotia: thebes is a city states, areas arou(cid:374)d the(cid:271)es were orga(cid:374)ized (cid:271)y eth(cid:374)e"s. Doric and ionian order: there were two ways to build temples doric and ionian, doric temples originated from the 8th century and are older than ionian. Ionia temples originated in the 7th century: more flourished style, with a continuous story wrapping around the top. Excurses: lydia: major power during the archaic period.
