Stature estimation anatomical method: the fully technique mathematical method: An individual reaches maximum stature at about 25 years of age, and after 45 they start to shrink. You must add a correction factor for soft tissue (usually about 2. 5 cm) which is subtracted from final estimate. Evaluation of the fully technique: issues to consider sample size and composition, cadaveric vs. living stature, measurement technique, interobserver error, soft tissue correction factor, the age affect. You don"t always have all the bones required for the above methods. The mathematical method was therefore developed by trotter and gleser discovered that there is a strong correlation between the length of the long bones and the living stature. If you are incorrect on your assessment of ancestry you may end up using the wrong formula for stature estimation.
