Arpanet (1969): when the internet began, it was four machines, in four us universities, the rst thing transmitted across two characters and then the computer crashed. Www uses the internet to move documents and web pages around the world. System of interlinked documents (hypertext, web pages) located on web servers around the world. Structure and content of a web page is speci ed by the hypertext markup language (html). All you could do was look at pictures and read there was no sound, or transactions, etc. The basic web (mentioned previously) was web 1. 0 but also transactions once you had places like ebay and development of paypal.
