What he does at the end of the novel is inexcusable. Complete freedom to do what he wants Not very offensive and doesn"t hurt many people on purpose. Underlying message: they will always want to be apart of a family. Can be himself with jim sees him asa. Tries all the other families but doesn"t form a relationship. Aware of the society and the expectations that come from it. Not sure if children could read the book or understand. More for the adults, maybe to read to their children. This kind of dialect was a fashion in the 19th century. Realism, conveying people"s speeches as it sounded. Putting this on the page was difficult.
