Diference between knowledge, learning, informaion, understanding, and wisdom. Previous curriculum document did not include a lot of environmental science in it. Teaching is working to help students take their place as informed, engaged, and empowered ciizens. Key recommendaions: develop and strategically implement guidelines for environmentally sound pracices at the ministry, school board, and school levels, increase cross-curricular of environmental educaion, explicitly an environmental topic in each grade. Science: a way of organizing and gaining knowledge by tesing laws and theories. Technology: the applicaion of materials, tools, and processes for solving problems, or saisfying human needs. Goals: understand basic concepts of science and technology, train kids to be scienists. Develop the skills, strategies and habits of mind required for scieniic inquiry and technological problem solving: relate science and technology to society and the environment. Big ideas: broad, important understandings that students should retain long term, speciic to each grade.
