Health psychology/behavioural medicine: an interdisciplinary field, assumes that health and wellness cause by a complex interaction: Interested in the relationship between personality and health. E. g. , ulcer-prone personality : personality had a unique definition for alexander: Basically, the type of defence mechanisms a person tended to use. Model #1: personality type -> specific illness, super easy to test find people with the illness and test their personality, early literature focused on a number of very specific illnesses. E. g. , ulcers, asthma, and hypertension: each illness was associated with a particular personality pattern, not everyone with a particular personality type developed the illness. It didn"t take long for a problem to appear with the model. The personality structure existed since early in the individual"s life. Organ vulnerability would have to have existed since early on.
