Is a statistical method that makes the examination of dream material more objective. It is a scoring system that was designed by hall and van de castle, 1966. It is the most used system for scoring dreams, and it is dream coding. The statistical method is very important because without an objective method, were really not sure how dreams are any different from any other narrative passage. Female: statistical significance: the number of dreams is important: >100 >600. Big question: can we predict waking day behaviour from dream content: can dreams predict depression, can dreams predict who is getting better from chemotherapy, regressions. Protocol: collect a large number of dreams. This is done with a formula or a stats program. Enough dreams so you can perform specific statistics (ie: regressions): code the dreams for all appropriate categories.
