These women laid the foundations for the gains women have made since. These voices emerged against backdrop against 3000 years of repression, being silenced, negative attitudes, etc, traditions that were inherited by the main civilizations like hebrew, christian, greek, and roman history. He was the student of plato, who was not as much as a mysoginist. This then assumed that women were inferior to men. They were defined only as child bearers and housekeepers.
