She took on the government, men, religious institutions, etc. Her mother had died early due to having so many children. Was very against catholics ad the catholic hierarchy. Was originally against john rock, but relented that she could use him for their cause. She was able to open the first birth control clinics in america in new york. She was able to offer contraceptive advice to poor, immigrant women who would line up hours before the doors opened. She also wrote the women rebel: no gods no masters.
