Age grade ages/stages that we pass through, they are set. Age sects people that are the same age as you, you go through the age grades together. Look at primate studies not because we share dna but because we have observed that we share a lot of similar behaviors between us and them. Not a lot of research on elder primates because they are preyed upon quite often by other species. The elders did help defend the young from predators, often putting their own lives at risk. Passed on experience and status to the family. Pace of human aging is not that unique at all. Elder primates can grow old gracefully just like humans o: humans generally are the species that live the longest past their reproductive periods, especially their, most animals die at mid-life, after they pass the reproductive era reproductive prime.
