We view race as a form of division that is biological or genetic, something deep within us, clear cut categories. Genetics do not tell us anything that defines race. Like finding out the earth is round. Theory: because they all have different body types & physiological structures that gives them advantage in a certain sport. Critique: there is no scientific definition of race, no basis. Theory: different cultures have different opportunities, thus we get exposed to different sports. We are one of the most genetically similar species. Even fruit flies or penguins have more genetic difference between them. Scientists have been searching the basis for race for a long time. Some measured face structures and compared it to primates. Some measured skull size and related it to intelligence. There is no way to measure race. African americans lived in segregation and immigrants lived in poverty. Racist conclusion: they were at the bottom of the social hierarchy because of their biology.
