Euripides has a very wide religious outlook, into representing the world of thought and intellectual life and putting it onstage for the athenian public. Medea is probably most famous thing euripides ever wrote, also probably the most often performed greek tragedy in modern times. Most dominant heroine in all of greek tragedy, largest female part in the canon, extreme example of tragedy"s fascination with forceful women. Complex character will change a lot from scene to scene, bring up different issue at each point. Can be played in lots of different ways (ex. cool and ruthless, sometimes madwoman/deluded, bitter housewife) Jason is the main player in a major mythical cycle, involving the argonauts and the golden fleece. Tries to reclaim father"s throne in iolcus from usurper pelias, who sends him on hopeless quest to go to the end of the world and recover golden. Assembles crew of heroes, mostly with bigger reputations than him --
