The closer you get to the surface, the colder you get
As soon as the ground ice is exposed to the atmosphere, it sublimates
Ground ice: periodically, ground ice is released, and adds to the
vapour in the atmosphere. This vapour makes its way to the
poles, and gets frozen in
At the poles: the ice at the poles sublimates in summer and that
vapour travels to the colder pole (which is in winter)
At the surface: There is frost that precipitates and sublimates
due to daily changes in temperature

o Water Map
Water is mixed in at the high latitudes

Purple-blue = 50% of water mixed in with the soil (around 50o)
Equators have high amounts of minerals possibly containing lots of
hydrogen (not necessarily

Document Summary

Instruments: themis, better resolution than tes, fill in intermediates and get better mineral signatures, grs, water = h2o (looking at the hydrogen part of the water here, current climate, atmospheric temperature, water ice clouds, daytime temperature. Cap: both caps are have a residual cap of water ice. The (cid:374)orther(cid:374) cap has (cid:373)ore of a spiral patter(cid:374). The souther(cid:374) cap"s residual cap is topped off by carbon dioxide ice (because that cap is colder).
