It is important to create a timeline to understand the history of the english language. It collides with other languages and picks up little pieces of other languages and uses them. Theory of the creation of the english language: conquest, colonization, commerce. 787 ad- sack of monasteries in the north. 1837-01- victoria i- high point of british imperialism. World wars- growth of the us and the english language. During this period, they did not have an important impact on the development of english language. The celts and the picts are hanging around in 43 bc and back. There are also missionaries that will be bringing in a little bit of latin. Christianity is kicking around among the romans even though it was technically illegal. Viking(scandinavians) attacks and sacks of the northern monasteries. It is constantly evolving and changing. page 37 svo. Sanskrit, (italic group makes)latin and greek all come from the same source.
