Nonwoven fabrics also called a bre web structure nonwovens are less expensive because some are produced during production of manufactured. Bres lie mostly in lengthwise direction of fabric. Strength is greater in the direction of orientation cross-laid: Bres are oriented lengthwise then crosswise in next layer. Helps create strength in both direction random: Bres lie in all directions within the web. Nonwoven fabric production two steps in manufacture of non-woven fabrics: preparing the bre web, bonding or entangling the bres within the web. Bre"s inherent characteristics are re ected in the fabric. Laments and strong staple bres used for strength and durability. Thermoplastics are used for spun-bonded webs methods for preparation and bonding will depend on the type of bre used - lament, staple, animal hair, thermoplastic . Bre orientation controls web characteristics and describes the bres that are parallel in the web. Oriented webs - bres parallel to each other.
