Members of smaller branches within the kkk participated in many events and mass shootings. Greensboro mass shooting - jewish retirement home in kansas. Gradual replacing of the klan"s image by other groups with similar or the same ideologies. The growth of the groups changed the nature of traditional white supremacy. Anti-government sentiment became more pronounced than the elements of white supremacy in many of these branch groups. Nazi ideology and white separatism were prevalent in these groups. Now directed more at governments and elites in power. The dominant discourse were these associated groups with the kkk targeting local enforcements and government structures. All of which were mentioned as both threats and precedence by homeland security following. There was a sense that this could occur again. It was rare until recently to have an activist and sympathizer of these movements run for of ce. Cases of participants in these movements being elected at municipal levels and some even state levels.
