Limitations of propeller by 1939 need for higher speeds result. 650 km/hr: turbojet revolution, high speed and sound barrier crises. 1942 me 262 first jet fighter (jumo 004) over 800 km/hr. Supersonic and subsonic airflows act together - shock wave.
