Rudy gernreich use this event to create back to school collection. 1971- 200,000 participate in anti-war march on washington dc. 1973- peace treaty ending vietnam war signed. 1973-1978- series of oil embargo on the usa, high cost of cosmetic fiber, price of oil is quadrupled. 1974- stable oil market, the museum of art in new york presents the teens, twenties, thirties- inventive clothes: 1909-1939 , return of natural fiber, neutral garments color, revival of 1930s silhouette. Mid- 1970s- disco music becomes main stream. 1978- diplomatic relations between china and usa. 1979- three-miles island nuclear power plant failure occurs, soviet war against. 1970s- color and patterns continue traditional suits and leisure suits. Some women had abandoned brassieres and went now braless, most did not.
