Uses 4-wheeled walker to go to dining room. Dizziness triggered by dynamic movements involving rotational component; episodes last for about 1 minute. Explain how these medications could worsen this symptom. Em is primarily on vasodilating (nitro) or antihypertensive (arb, beta-blocker) medications. By reducing blood pressure the patient may have reduced cns perfusion, leading to dizziness: explain how balance is maintained. Identify the 4 different body systems that are responsible for balance. Vestibular the hair cells in the semicircular canals; utricle and saccule. Described as a false sensation that the body or the environment is moving or spinning.
