PEDS294 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Interia.Pl, Mechanical Advantage, Maximum Force
Document Summary
Common principles remain the same regardless of the activity. ~ how it is applied is what varies. You learn and transfer ideas; this attends to multiple ways of learning. If you know a skill well you will go bottom of the pyramid up: fact- concept- generalization. A conceptual approach to movement is the practical way of organizing thoughts of conceptual movement. You need to be clear and precise, and be able to transfer knowledge across a variety of movement settings. Explain any jargon that you use, and put the definition in brackets. Ensure that you include the generalization, concept and fact. Have a kinesthetic feel: what are you sensing in your movement. Experience motion as being: variable, sequential, forceful, adaptable and interactive. Where does it move? (personal, general space) How forcefully does it move? (heavy, soft, powerful) Locomotor: moving from a to b (straight, curve, angular) Non-locomotor: no change in space (receiving a volleyball)
