PEDS294 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Defensin, Target Games, Kickball
Document Summary
Space is the context in which we move, play, and perform; all movement requires and uses space. How well we can judge space and utilize space often determines the effectiveness of our movement. Space influences utilization of concepts/principles in our movements. Requires an awareness of the importance of various spaces and how to use them (high vs. low priority) Requires an understanding of how to cope, adapt or develop strategies regarding use of space in relation to space. General space (gs): vertical levels, space restrictions. 3d space, outside out personal space, that we move through. Use of levels enhances a variety of movement and increased ability to react. Use of lower levels provides increased number of points for interception = less time to react for defender. Higher levels decreases the number of points for interception = more time to react. Restricted by rules, structures and boundaries (height, lines) Not all space is of equal value strategically.
