PHYSL212 Lecture Notes - Lecture 20: Anterior Pituitary, Posterior Pituitary, Adrenal Medulla

142 views33 pages

Document Summary

These lectures will introduce you to the major hormones, what they are, and what they do. A good knowledge of the role of hormones is relevant to a study of the gastrointestinal system, the cardiovascular system, the renal system and the reproductive system, amongst others. The purpose of this summary is to give you an idea of the topics to be covered (time permitting) in the lectures and to provide you with a copy of most of the diagrams used to illustrate the lectures. Extra diagrams may be used in class, where appropriate. The summary is mainly in the form of questions which you should be able to answer by the end of this series of lectures. It is strongly recommended that you supplement/reinforce this summary and your lecture notes by reading at least some of the relevant sections in a textbook of physiology.
