Degrees of freedom problem: synergy, mechanics, eiciency. Perceptual-motor integraion: feedback loops, interacions, motor neurons. Motor learning: deliberate pracice, speciicity, neural plasicity. Plans consist of acion schemas: each schema contains subschemas. Schema triggered by environmental condiions & internal goals. Internal goals: acive schema in current plan determines next subschema. Each schema is in charge of its subschemas to make sure it is executed correctly. Environmental condiions: schemas triggered by appropriate external condiions. Someimes there is a determined order, someimes not. Used only when memory for similar procedures inadequate. Direcions used to create hierarchical plans: have to construct a plan with the hierarchical structure. Requires memory retrieval and instaniaion: have to remember schemas and subschemas in memory and instaniate them based on context. Use text as cues to retrieve and instaniate known schemas. Efecive use of direcions requires relevant informaion in memory. Failure to ind efecive memory cues in text: tells you to do things you don"t know how to do.
