Covers the axon in some neurons (white matter = axon w/ myelin; grey matter: Insulating layer of fatty material axon without myelin) Axon with myelin can send info 30x faster than an axon without the myelin sheath. Glial cells: are supporting cells found in the nervous system (1-5 trillion)(form myelin sheath) Synapse: space between the axon of one neuron and the dendrites mor cell body of another neuron.
