Taste: yes, we are simply measuring the population that is purchasing there preferred drink from a vending machine. We do not have the data for those that buy elsewhere. Hence, our sample of data is too restricted and small. The people who come by this vending machine are not representative of the population. Stocking issue more availability of one over the other may affect purchase: we can have various other places monitored stores, fast food outlets, etc. Double blind taste test the participants don"t know what is what and the researcher doesn"t know what is what. Coke and pepsi have slightly different tastes and people might recognize it. So we may avoid verbal reports and look at physiological measure fmri or skin response.
