When a person"s predisposition is very high, a stressful situation is more likely to bring on a psychological disorder. Even under low levels of stress a person predisposed with mental disorder can have mental disorder. On the other hand, even high amount of stress cannot bring on mental disorder in non-predisposed people. Cumulative risk bad environment or environment with more risk factors lead to lower iq, poor performance in school and having these experiences can disturb a person"s course of development. This is a great indicator of developing mental disorder, as with more risk factors in an environment, the number of mental disorders in the population increases. Perpetuating causes consequences of a psychological disorder that keep the disorder going once it begins.
