She keeps on staring at him all the time or he is in danger. She knows her fears are irrational, but she can"t control it. Whenever she touches her son, her hands must be very clean and washes her hands 22 times sometimes. If somebody is walking towards her and her son, she gets frantic. The mother wants to start treatment and understand that her obsession is the biggest danger in her son"s life, as he is learning the obsessive behaviour from his mother e. g. washing his hands. When a person experiences a traumatic or stressful experience, they can get ptsd. It can be a car accident, returning from war, torture, involuntary confinement as a prisoner of war or concentration camp.
