Personality disorders are chronic, they do not come and ago but originate in childhood and continue throughout adulthood. Because these chronic problems affect personality, they pervade every aspect of a person"s life. A personality disorder is a persistent pattern of emotions, cognitions, and behaviour that results in during emotional distress for the person affected an/or for others and may cause dif culties with work and relationships.
