The quran is seen as the ultimate guide for life. It is meant to make life more simple/easy. Surahs are ordered approximately by their length. Each surah portrays some principle, adination, encouragement for life. Collections of sayings and stories that are attributed to muhammad. ~200 years post-muhammad they settle on ~6000 hadith. **many common muslim practices are found in the hadith but not in the quran. Muhammad = founder and the last prophet. He was not the first muslim either. He believed that humans/nature all submit to god in some sort of way and therefore everyone is muslim. Prior to muhammad; humans were ignorant & could not fully submit because they were missing some of the revelations that were not introduced until muhammad came.
