PSYCO282 Lecture Notes - Lecture 25: Agoraphobia, Stimulus Control
Document Summary
Psyco282, lecture 25, november 16, 2016 (generalization and maintenance) Agoraphobia= fear of going out in open spaces. Generalization: behaviour that occurs in the presence of an sd that is similar to that used in training; in other words, behaviour change that exists beyond the training program. Response maintenance: extension of behaviour change over time, after the program is no longer in e ect. Transfer of behaviour across situations: behaviour change takes place in new/di erent settings and circumstances. Response generalization: altering one behaviour leads to similar changes in another, unaddressed response, usually one that is similar or related to the target behaviour. Natural contingencies include the antecedents and consequences that a ect the target behaviour. Allow variations in the antecedent stimuli, responses, and consequences employed in the modi cation procedures. Ex: using multiple trainers, di erent settings, various reinforcers. A mediator is a stimulus that occurs between training and generalization, and facilitates or promotes generalization.
