A branch of psychology that focuses on developing assessment and intervention strategies to deal with social, emotional, developmental and behavioural problems. I"m really sad and i need to make that go away post a dramatic event. Come to think anxiety and sadness are disorders. Periods of showing symptoms without having the disorder. Stigma awareness has back red and lead to more people self diagnosing and thinking they have these disorders. The danger of this is that people who don"t have full on disorders feel they have these things thus can"t understand how some people react poorly to their more sever problems. It is a costly process for both time (testing, reporting and doing the actual practice) and the base materials. New assessment kits every few years (like textbooks) Trained to deal with a lot of serious issues. End up dealing with adjustment disorders and everyday issues (in private practice)
