Development has been intrinsic to human societies since early settlements. The way we perceive it has changed. Even in the past people had an idea of improvement. When people decided to settle down permanently and development agricultural activities, it was successful because they saw the di erence in quality of life as a community. They saw the advantages and caught on the idea. Then empires built on that (inka empire) Had a clear idea bait what it was to be prosperous. Idea of evolution, building on past ideas. Up until the point of euro-centric perspective, we reach a turning point. A period of about 600 years in europe beginning with renaissance. The main di erence there to note is that as a society in those days, we stopped thinking that progress and development have to do with some divine power.
