Many related and relevant subjects, so many perspectives and management decision weighted by opinions on which related subjects are the most important. Park: an area that is more or less natural looking, and which is intended to stay that way well into the foreseeable future, with at least some restrictions on development . But there is a dichotomy in the nature of parks: they can be extremely wild or isolated, or they can be carefully manicured or in the middle of urban areas. Parkland: a landscape featuring open meadows, patches of trees, streams and small lakes. European ideal on which many of our manicured parks are based. Only really addresses the aesthetic values, better than nothing, still offers some habitat to certain species. Aspen parkland: area around edmonton, before agriculture, characterized by grassy meadows and clumps of aspen poplar, maintained over time by frequent fires.
