Children are socialized by other and they eternalize these learnings. No self at birth and self develops as a result of social experience. Self image is largely based on how a person sees how other people see him. Three components: how you appear to others (physical) How the person is judging them by appearance ( people can feel proud, ashamed or self- confident) Around teenage years, girls have low self-esteem than boys. Boys develop justice perspective (what"s right and wrong) Barbie dolls exaggerated versions of body image.
