Interpretive understating is a key word here but also the social action when it comes to max weber. Rationalization: most of these scholars were writing during lots of changes in the western society. Industrialization: urbanization etc, because of this, many scholars were interested in these changes, religion is very much tied to the disenchantment he refers to. Emile durkheim: he tries to analyse the boundaries and reason of sociology. Sociology as a discipline of its own right: social facts are things we can observe in the society and are external to individuals. Involves the fact that we as human beings live in society through socializations and guides how we should behave and how our behaviours would be considered acceptable or deviant. Defining social facts: they exist outside their individual manifestations, they are guiding actors of our behaviours. Could be norms, lifestyles and all: we are expected to socialize in different ways and we know what is expected of us.
