Many had guest-worker background- their parents had been recruited in 1960s for low skill jobs. The intention was to allow these workers into the country temporarily and then they"d go back home. The immigrants hoped too that they would save enough money to go back home. Countries had no plans to integrate the children. Them: my dealing is in response to society. They make a positive image of themselves, unlike societies idea of gang members. The strongly ided with their neighbourhood + use a distinct sense of purity. They are a generation of perpetual foreigners they weren"t integrated as children and are too old to benefit with these programs.
