Globalization is becoming a more prevalent topic of discussion in the modern era and with this the evolving nature of communication in particular in our daily life. 21st century has been taken over with television, cellphone, internet, radio, news etc. as the preferred method to communicate. This according to aaron mushengyzi has a direct impact for african economies and politics, especially in the more rural areas or the global village . It has been the case that african governments and development partners utilize communication models found in the development world, yet this is quite strategy according to mushengyzi is ineffective when applied to the rural masses. The paper argues that these communication models are not contextualized to the local setting, who are often populated with people that are non- literate, poor and have little exposure to television, radio, film etc.
