Blackstone - a rule of civil conduct, prescribed by the supreme power in a state, commanding what is right, and prohibiting what is wrong. The body of rules of conduct that are obligatory; sanctions imposed if a rule is violated. Rules you must obey, or you will be punished if otherwise. Rights: are things we can do with impunity (nobody stepping in our way) Others may not step in our way.
