Late (cid:1005)85(cid:1004)"s carte de visite, small paper photographs on cardboard mounts, are introduced and soon replace degurrotypes. 1888 eastman kodak introduces a camera that can be used by people who are not professional photographers. Niepce realized there was a away to reproduce images onto a surface, inventing the heliograph. Hi method though, required several days of exposure time. Once niepce dies, daguerro introduces a more efficient way of developing photographs. (see d2l for process) called the daguerreotype. Daguerro eventually sold this invention to the french government.
