Firewood and lumber production: other agriculture that could take longer transport (such as livestock) could be placed further away, example: freiberg, germany is one of the places that used the model. Space itself is not a straightforward idea, as it is more than just the canvas on which such patterns are imprinted. Thinking geographically means more than simply describing patterns it means trying to explain them. Space is an active part of explaining geographical patterns, meaning that economic activities are shaped by spatial relations.
