Document Summary

Another system of vessels that bring uid back to the heart. Lymphatic vessels are attached by lymph nodes. This system includes the vessels, lymph nodes and some lymphoid organs. Lymphatic vessels start in the middle of nowhere. Lymph will come back to venous circulation, although it does not return in an even manner. Upper right portion of body drains into right lymphatic duct. The rest of the body drains into thoracic duct. Thoracic duct goes entire length of thoracic cavity and it accepts lymph from upper left part of the body and the lower half of the body. Right lymphatic duct only accepts lymph from upper right quadrant, it doesn"t extend all the way down length of thoracic cage like the thoracic duct. This right lymphatic duct drains into the junction of subclavian vein and before internal jugular vein. Thoracic duct dumps lymph back into the junction between the internal and external jugular veins into subclavian.
