Augustine"s novel theme or novelty of evil. Good/evil balance between good and evil, light and dark. The view that good and evil are opposing forces is a mistake. Privation priv is taken away or hidden used to ma absence when it"s felt or noticed. Augustine teaches that evil is the shadow to goodness" light. Good and evil are light and dark. Ontology god made everything and he is perfect but god didn"t make everything perfect. He didn"t make everything as good as it can be or unchangeably good. People are not made perfect and constant like he is. When people are evil they are exhibiting less evil than they could. When people experience a privation of goodness they turn evil/ exhibit evil tendencies. Christian god is made as perfect as can be.
