Appeal to the People
: Occurs when an attempt to persuade you of P involves considerations of how you will
be valued or accepted by others (if you don’t accept P) and no evidence is provided for P.
Eg: Some of our greatest Canadian heroes were fighters in the NHL.
Be a true Canadian and support fighting in the NHL.
: Not doing x will lead you to offending others. It’s in your own interest to do x.
Appeal to Pity
: Attempts to persuade an audience of P by considering a person’s unfortunate
