Poli 399 research problems and the research process. Properly formulated research problems are questions they are how questions. We want to talk about how these things are related to each other. Ex: why did voters support justin trudeau on monday? (bad) You are only asking about one person on one day. This is more generalizable and can be applied across time and space. Generality is the goal of the scientific method. We want to explain as much as possible with as simple as explanation as possible. When you have a generalizable research problem, you have big implications. The impact of the work is much more considerable. A general research question dramatically impacts your research question. The more generalized problem, the more access you have to information/literature to solve your question. **40% of grade for research project is getting the step 4.
