The optional assignment is to help you prepare for the exam and is not to be handed in: there are in-class (or take-home) applied exercises that together account for 11% of your grade. Your lowest mark (or missed exercise) is dropped: there are on-line quizzes that together account for 5% of your grade. These quizzes are to be taken prior to certain lectures as announced in class. You may use the text or work in groups however each student must submit an individual quiz: there are two midterms and a final exam.
