ANSC 4470 Lecture Notes - Lecture 21: Short-Chain Fatty Acid, Phosphorylation
Document Summary
Pkb and pka phosphorylate diferent sites, muliple places of enzyme that converts accoa to malcoa. Phosphorylaion occurs in adipose, mammary, liver, but does not occur in the muscle. Not a lot of 18 carbon faty acid, can make 16 carbon fa and can elongate. Milk fat has short chain faty acids, makes it more liquid. Unsaturated faty acids would also create more luidity, but evoluionary did not happen (?) Short chain faty acids are guaranteed fuel source for the animal.
